We have a low-income spay/neuter program to assist with the spaying and neutering of pets. This is to help control the overpopulation of animals without homes. Most of the local veterinarians participate in this program.
If you need financial assistance to help with the cost of spaying or neutering, bring proof of household income to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Proof of income must be:
- Tax Returns
- Proof of Assistance: Child Support, Food Stamps, Social Security, Disability (we need the letter that states how much you are receiving each month)
You will be asked for a photo ID and you will also have to fill out an application in person at the Humane Society. The spay/neuter assistance program is limited to one animal per household per year. You will pay a fee at the Humane Society and they will give you a prepaid voucher to take to one of the participating veterinarians.
